SHOWMANSHIP
1. Please read Showmanship Rules on pages 55.
2. Independent exhibitors 9 -13 years old will be
combined with 4-H. Independent exhibitors
ages 14 and older will be combined with FFA.  All
ages as of December 31st of the previous year.
3. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4.
4. Winners participate in 4-H or FFA Master
Showmanship in all species.
No Cash Award- Ribbons Only
1st through 8th place

DIVISION 442 - HORSE SHOWMANSHIP 
CLASS 1    4-H True Novice Showmanship 
exhibiting for the first time, no prior experience 
with any large species.  1st - 3rd place can advance 
to the age appropriate class.
CLASS 2    4-H Junior Showmanship- 9 and 10 years 
of age.  1st -3rd place can advance to 4H
 Intermediate class.
CLASS 3    4-H Intermediate Showmanship- 11-13 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H 
Intermediate Master Showmanship.
CLASS 4   4-H Advanced Showmanship-  14 - 19 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H Advances 
Master Showmanship.		
CLASS 5   FFA Novice Showmanship- Exhibiting for 
the first time, no prior experience with any large 
species.  1st - 3rd place can advance to the age
 appropriate class.
CLASS 6   FFA Intermediate 7th, 8th, 9th, and 
10th grade (experience with any small species).  
Winners participate in  FFA Intermediate Master 
Showmanship.
CLASS 7  FFA Advanced Showmanship- 11th grade 
or older.  Winners participate in FFA Advanced 
Master Showmanship.

CONTEST
AMERICAN SYSTEM OF JUDGING
One Best of Division will be awarded in each 
Division, with one Best of Show from the winners.
Receiving on or before September 1st, 2026
Entry date by August 25th, 2026
1. Display should focus on educating the general public
about a specific species of animal exhibited at the fair.
2. Posters must measure at least 22"x 28", no more than
24"x 36".
3. Poster must contain one or more of the following:
*A drawing or painting of THE TOPIC.
*Information about Showmanship
*Information about the Origin of a Breed
*Information about a Breed or Variety including
Special Uses:
*Information about Identifications such as Tattoos,
Leg Bands or Ear Tags:
*Body Structure or Internal Systems
*Information about Care or Feeding
*Information concerning Gestation, Kindling or
Hatching
4. Displays MUST include the following information:
Exhibitor Name, Club/Chapter, list of all sources cited
that were used for your display. References to be listed
on the front of the poster.
5. Posters will be displayed in the Annex.
6. Any poster containing false or misleading
information will be ineligible for awards and subject to
disqualification.
7. Poster may not include actual equipment.
Photographs or illustrations in your poster are
recommended.
8. Photographs or displays must include original work of
the exhibitor. Text and photos copied directly from other
sources may be used for a portion of the display but not
the sole content.  Original work can include summaries
of source material, compilation from multiple sources,
and/or text written by the exhibitor.
9. Answer these Questions: (1) What is your favorite
experience or lesson you have learned with the species
or topic? (2) Give one FUN fact about this topic that no
one knows.
10. Top 3 winners of each division will present on
Wednesday, September 9th, 5:00 PM. Exhibitors use
STILL exhibit form, entry closing and receiving dates.
11. Management reserves the right to limit quantity of
posters displayed based on space available if needed.
LIMIT: 3 entry per division.
