MARKET HOG
Livestock Market Exhibitors must submit an Intent 
to Show form including  clear photos of the animal: 
head shot with notches or eartag, full right side 
of body, full left side of body, rear of animal and 
1 image with exhibitor and animal along with a 
copy of a Bill of Sale and Prop 12 Certificate online 
at maderafair.com/livestock. Tags will be issued 
to Leaders/Instructors upon receipt of submitted 
Intent to Show and in time for the Livestock 
Market Entry due date, August 7th, 2026 online at 
maderafair.com
MARKET INTENT TO SHOW DUE JULY 7TH, 2026
ENTRIES DUE on or before August 7th, 2026
1. It is the intent of the Division of Fairs and
Expositions and of Fairs that the quality standards
established for market animals be maintained.
Therefore, classifications will be subject to change
in the event there are changes made in Federal
grading.
Length of Hair:  The processors are asking that the
hogs have 1/2" or longer hair on all market swine.
2. No premiums paid to market animals.
3. Market hogs must be entered by predominant
bred characteristics on entry.
MARKET HOG SCORECARD
GRADE 
MARKET ACCEPTABLE: 
U.S. No. 1 and No. 2 hogs of average or greater 
conformation that are acceptable in leanness, 
muscularity, and production traits. 
NOT MARKET ACCEPTABLE: 
Any hog of below average conformation  
including U.S. number 3, U.S. number 4 and utility 
grade hogs. 
Entry fee: $10.00 per entry per class
No premiums will be paid to market animals
AWARDS: CHAMPION | RESERVE CHAMPION
NOTE:  After weighing, market hogs may be divided into 
either weight classes or breed and weight classes as 
determined by Fair management. A minimum of 7 animals 
are needed to create a breed division. 
DIVISION 315- 4-H MARKET HOG
CLASS 1     Barrow or Gilt  210 - 280 pounds.
DIVISION 316- FFA MARKET HOG
CLASS 1     Barrow or Gilt 210 - 280 pounds.
Market hogs weighing over 300 lbs. are not eligible 
for the Junior Livestock Auction, but may be 
exhibited in Division 321 and showmanship.
BRED AND FED

DIVISION 317- BRED AND FED
CLASS 1     Market entries bred and fed in the ex-
hibitors own herd AND ENTERED IN THE MARKET 
DIVISION.
DIVISION 318- PAIR OF HOGS
CLASS 1     Pair of Market Hogs- 2 market hogs    
owned by one exhibitor.
CLUB OR CHAPTER GROUP
Award for first place 
Ribbons for second and third place
No Pre-Entry Required
DIVISION 319- MARKET GROUP
One entry per club or chapter Market. Three 
animals that have been shown in previous breeding 
classes owned by members of one club or chapter.  
No exhibitor may enter more than one animal.
