BEEF CATTLE 
SHOWMANSHIP
1. Please read Showmanship Rules on pages 11.
2. Independent exhibitors 9 -13 years old will be
combined with 4-H. Independent exhibitors ages 14
and older will be combined with FFA.  All ages as of
December 31st of previous year.
3. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4.
4. Winners participate in 4-H or FFA Master
Showmanship in all species.

1st through 8th place
DIVISION 306- BEEF SHOWMANSHIP
CLASS 1    4-H True Novice Showmanship 
exhibiting for the first time, no prior experience 
with any large species.  1st - 3rd place can advance 
to the age appropriate class.
CLASS 2    4-H Junior Showmanship- 9 and 10 years 
of age.  1st -3rd place can advance to 4H 
Intermediate class.
CLASS 3    4-H Intermediate Showmanship- 11-13 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H 
Intermediate Master Showmanship.
CLASS 4    4-H Advanced Showmanship-  14 - 19 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H Advanced 
Master Showmanship.		
CLASS 5   FFA Novice Showmanship- Exhibiting for 
the first time, no prior experience with any large 
species.  1st - 3rd place can advance to the age 
appropriate class.
CLASS 6   FFA Intermediate 7th, 8th, 9th, and 
10th grade (experience with any large species).  
Winners participate in  FFA Intermediate Master 
Showmanship.
CLASS 7  FFA Advanced Showmanship- 11th grade 
or older.  Winners participate in FFA Advanced 
Master Showmanship.
BREEDING BEEF 
1.
All females 24 (twenty-four) months of age or
older at the beginning day of the fair must: 
a) have a calf at side OR b) show obvious signs of
pregnancy, OR,  c) have a veterinarians certificate of
pregnancy.
2.
NOTE: Nurse Cows will not be permitted on
Fairgrounds.
3.
Includes Registered and Purebred.
4. A minimum of 7 animals owned by 3 exhibitors is
required to hold the Registered Breeding Division.
If minimum entries are not met, Registered will be
combined with Commercial Division. Entrants will
be notified after entry closing so they are aware if
they will need to weigh in their breeding amimals.

DIVISION 308- COMMERCIAL Beef Heifers
CLASS 1     Heifers Broken by Weight Sept. 1, 
2025-May 10, 2026
DIVISION 309- COW/CALF
All breeds judged together.  Lactating cow with 
natural calf at side.  Calf must be identified on entry 
form by tattoo number or ear tag and birth date.  
Registered calf meeting age requirements may also 
be shown in the junior calf class (preceeding 
Division) 
CLASS 1     Registered or Grade cows of any breed 
born prior to March 1, 2024 with calf at side under 
210 days of age.
