RABBITS All Market Exhibitors must submit an Intent to Show form online at maderafair.com/livestock. MARKET INTENT TO SHOW DUE JULY 7TH, 2026 ENTRIES DUE on or before August 7th, 2026 AMERICAN SYSTEM OF JUDGING NO SUBSTITUTIONS AFTER August 25th, 2026 Must be substituted within the same Division and Class with an animal of the same breed. 1. Rules, definitions and judging procedures as prescribed in the latest edition of the Guide Book and Standard of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Inc., shall apply to all district and county fair rabbit shows, provided they do not conflict with any of the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Food and Agriculture. 2. Market Rabbits are judged on market readiness and not subject to all ARBA Disqualifications (i.e. toe nails, teeth, tails, etc.) at the discrepency of the judge. Market Rabbits will be disqualified if below minimum weight or above maximum weight. 3. Rabbits will be entered, shown and judged in proper division and class for breed, age and sex. All rabbits must be part of a supervised rabbit project for a minimum of sixty (60) days and must be owned by exhibitor for a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive days. 4. Rabbits found to be in ill health will be refused from the show by the show committee and MUST be removed from the Fairgrounds. A list of general disqualifications and eliminations may be obtained from the Cooperative Extension Service Office in Madera. 5. Breeding Entries are limited to (2) per class, per exhibitor, per division. 6. All rabbits must be permanently ear marked in the animal's left ear conforming with the entry card on arrival at the show. Any duplication of ear markings, by one exhibitor, in the same division, must be eliminated and the change recorded on the judging sheet before judging. 7. This will be a one day carry cage show. Rabbits will remain in the carry cage except during judging. 8. Exhibitors are responsible for getting their animals to the judging table on time. Exhibitors shall not state ownership of any animal to the judge. 9. All rabbits are entered at the owner's risk. The Fair, employees, judges and show personnel are not responsible in any way for loss, injury or death of entries. All reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure their safety. 10. Pick up your judging cards before leaving. They will not be mailed. 11. Breeding rabbit classes open to 4-H/FFA/ Independent exhibitors from Madera, Merced, Fresno, & Mariposa Counties. 12. Meat pen entries and showmanship classes limited to Madera County 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters. Independent exhibitors must reside in Madera Co. to enter Meat Pen or Showmanship classes. 13. Exhibitors will wear the official uniform of the organization they represent. 14. The age in months, as of opening day of the fair, (4 months, etc.) must be entered on the entry card for each animal entered in breed divisions. 15. The 4-H/FFA Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion market pen and fryer must sell at the Junior Livestock/Small Animal Auction. 16. All animals will be processed for human consumption at a processing plant chosen by the 21A-DAA. No guarantee of rabbits to buyer. 17. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4. 18. No tattooing allowed on fairgrounds on day of show. MARKET RABBITS Market Entry fee: $10.00 per entry per class No premiums will be paid to market animals AWARDS: CHAMPION | RESERVE CHAMPION Drug Forms will be provided at weigh-in. TATTOOS FOR MEAT PENS & SINGLE FRYERS LIMITED TO TWO DIGITS PER RABBIT. DIVISION 390- 4-H MARKET RABBITS CLASS 1 Single Fryer - single fryer rabbit not over 10 weeks of age. Weight limit not under 3 1/2 or over 5 1/2 pounds. CLASS 2 Pen of three - consists of three (3) rabbits all the same breed and variety. Not necessarily from the same litter. Age limit not over ten (10) weeks, weight limit not under 3 1/2 pounds or over 5 1/2 pounds each rabbit. DIVISION 391- FFA MARKET RABBITS CLASS 1 Single Fryer - single fryer rabbit not over 10 weeks of age. Weight limit not under 3 1/2 or over 5 1/2 pounds. CLASS 2 Pen of three - consists of three (3) rabbits all the same breed and variety. Not necessarily from the same litter.
