SHOWMANSHIP RULES
ALL LIVESTOCK ENTRIES DUE AUGUST 7th, 2026
1. Only animals owned, fitted, and shown by the
exhibitor in Junior Department livestock classes are
eligible.
2. Entrants must be residents of a Madera County
or a member of a Madera County 4-H Club or FFA
Chapter.
3. Entries in showmanship must be on the original
entry form or may incur a $5 late fee.
4. All exhibitors are required to wear the official
uniform of the organization they represent.
5. 4-H hats must be on the exhibitor's person.
6. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4.
7. Coaching and instructions by leaders or other
adults given to a contestant during the judging of
showmanship  will result in 1 warning and then the
elimination of that contestant.

Market Beef Exhibitors must submit an Intent to Show 
form including  clear photos of the animal with one 
photo including exhibitor: head shot with ear tag, 
full right side of body, full left side of body, and rear 
of animal along with a copy of a Bill of Sale or Brand 
Inspection online at maderafair.com/livestock.
Tags will be issued to Leaders/Instructors upon receipt 
submitted Intent to Show and in time for the Livestock 
Market Entry due date, August 7th, 2026 online at 
maderafair.com  
MARKET INTENT TO SHOW DUE MAY 7TH, 2026
ENTRIES DUE on or before August 7th, 2026
1. It is the intent of the Division of Fairs and
Expositions and of Fairs that the quality standards
established for market animals be maintained.
Therefore, classification will be subject to change
in the event there are changes made in Federal
grading.
2. All breeds judged together (name breed).
3. After weighing, market beef may be divided
into weight lots within the 1000 to 1500 pound
limitations as desired by management for
convenience in judging.  See Local Rules for
exhibiting animals over the weight limitations.
4. All market beef must be individually owned by
the exhibitor for 120 consecutive days prior to the
opening day of the Fair.
5. A brand inspection or an out billing from a sale
yard must be made out to the Exhibitor showing 
120 consecutive day ownership, or a signed 
statement that the animal was bred and raised by 
the Exhibitor. Submit a copy of this paperwork with 
the Intent to Show form.
6. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4.
Entry Fee: $10.00 per entry per class
No premiums will be paid to market animals.
