DIVISION 399 - CAVY SHOWMANSHIP
CLASS 1   4-H True Novice Showmanship exhibiting 
for the first time, no prior experience with any small 
species.  1st - 3rd place can advance to the age 
appropriate class.
CLASS 2   4-H Junior Showmanship- 9 and 10 years 
of age.  1st -3rd place can advance to 4H 
Intermediate class.
CLASS 3   4-H Intermediate Showmanship- 11-13 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H 
Intermediate Master Showmanship.
CLASS 4   4-H Advanced Showmanship-  14 - 18 
years of age.  Winners participate in 4-H Advanced 
Master Showmanship.		
CLASS 5   FFA Novice Showmanship- Exhibiting for 
the first time, no prior experience with any small 
species.  1st - 3rd place can advance to the age 
appropriate class.
CLASS 6   FFA Intermediate 7th, 8th, 9th, and 
10th grade (experience with any small species).  
Winners participate in  FFA Intermediate Master 
Showmanship.
CLASS 7  FFA Advanced Showmanship- 11th grade 
or older.  Winners participate in FFA Advanced 
Master Showmanship.
POULTRY
Market Exhibitors must submit an Intent to Show 
form along with a copy of a Bill of Sale, Hatch 
Certificate online at 
maderafair.com/livestock.

RULES:
1. All Poultry must be health inspected upon
arrival at the Fair.  Health checks will be performed
by a certified Poultry Health Inspector and any susĀ­
pect animals will be dismissed from the
Fairgrounds.  All birds including meat pens must be
clean when presented to the inspector. The
inspector's decision is final. Leg bands must be in
place prior to check-in and correspond to the entry 
form or the bird will be eliminated.
2. This will be a one (1) day show. Exhibitors are
expected to clean out any pens used for holding
birds. Failure to clean areas will result in forfeiture
of premiums and/or sale priveldges
3. Exhibitors are responsible for getting their
birds penned on time. Exhibitors shall not state
ownership of any bird to the judge.
4. All birds are entered at the owner's risk. The
fair, employees, judges and show personnel are not
responsible in any way for loss, injury or death of
entries. All reasonable precautions will be taken to
ensure their safety.
5. Any changes on the coop card, not made by the
livestock staff will result in elimination of that entry.
6. All poultry entries in Best Pair classes must be
identified by leg band number on the orginial entry
form.
7. Any birds without leg band numbers will be
scratched from the show. Madera Fair does not
provide leg bands for breeding poultry entries.
8. Independent Exhibitors see Local Rule #4.
MARKET POULTRY
Market Animals: $10.00 per entry per class
1. All market entries qualified for the sale will
leave show for processing with a single processor,
arranged by Fair Management.
2. Exhibitor images will be taken with market
pen for use at the sale.  Exhibitors will be required
to be present on sale date at the Junior Livestock
Auction.
3. If an exhibitor opts to sell a large animal in place
of their poultry or show 2 poultry entries they may
submit payment for poultry processing along with a
withdrawal slip and will receive
their processed poultry for personal use. If can
exhibitor chooses to not process market birds
following the show, poultry will be released with a
signed withdrawl slip and not eligible for the sale.
